Kaeleigh and I had craft day on Sunday. Craft day consists of roaming around Michael's Craft store and picking out a new craft for each of us to do. There's a method to it. We do a full lap around the store weaving in and out of the aisles looking for something to catch our eye. The craft needs to be doable in 2-3 days tops. Nothing that takes too long as our attention spans were short. During the lap we discuss front runners... "oh this is cool but I liked that better", "well this one is cheaper and cooler". Then once the lap is done we revisit our favorites, narrowing down the list until we each have our craft, and each of us does something different.
Kaeleigh chose 2 new chocolate molds, 3 bags of wafers, 2 squeezy bottles and lollipop sticks. At home she use the chocolate and some additional food coloring to make crazy looking stars and cool flowers. She made a ton of lollipops and chocolates, brought some into her friends and the rest are stashed in her room. Here's her delicious results:
For some reason I had birdhouse on the brain before we even left the house. I finally purchased an unpainted wooden birdhouse. The tag on the birdhouse had a design suggestion that I just loved. I purchased some all-weather paints and a few brushes, then 3 pre-painted wooden decorations. At home I gave the house and the roof 2 layers of paint, then painted on the sand and glued on the decorations. I give you... The Dove Shack (the whole shack shimmies! dove shack... baby dove shack). The pictures came out horribly so I'm posting the video:
PS. This isn't the final blog style choice. I hate this one too, but I love my new Dr. Seuss tagline!
