Feed the World - Start at Home

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is a song written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in 1984 specifically to raise money for Ethopian famine relief. The original version was released by Band Aid on December 3, 1984. Watching the video today I realized 2 things. First, it totally embodies my cousin Jennifer's hair and clothing styles for that entire decade. The most up-to-date fashions with the coolest hair style and color. Second, Sting has been haunting me since at least the 80's. Thankfully my cousin did not imitate his hairstyle.

The message, however, should not be lost. I'm stressing Christmas this year because I don't have time to get everything done, it's too much after having such a big wedding. Oh poor me! I am truly thankful that this is one of my biggest worries. Country Crock is sponsoring "Stories of Sharing" this year and for every story shared they will donate one meal to America's Second Harvest. The meals feed hungry people right here in the US. Tonight I'll be sharing a story to donate a meal, I encourage you to do the same :) Feed the world baby.

Seriously...I rocked that decade.

It's hard to get lost in the shuffle of the Holiday's. Christmas gifts, buying food, wrapping gifts, etc. But when you stop to take a breath, it's important to remember people who can't buy food and gifts, or even heat their homes for that matter. I always buy some toys for "Toys for Tots." I don't think any child shouldn't get a visit from Santa.
