I am Iron Man

Monday night we went to see Iron Man. It was more of a "let's get out of the house" decision for me and a "ohh super hero movie" decision for Drew. Kae came along because she'll go see anything. I'm not gonna lie here, I LOVE Robert Downey Jr. ever since I saw him in Tuff Turf in 1985 (which coincidentally also began my love of James Spader). I used to watch SNL just to see him and Joan Cusack back in the 80's... but I'm way off topic here... IRON MAN.

Going in I had no idea who was in the movie other than RDJ and what a nice surprise it was. Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow and (a Mr. Clean looking) Jeff Bridges all make this movie good... RDJ makes it great! Sure there's lots of action, stuff gets blown up and he flies around a lot but it's pretty funny as well. The whole theater was laughing too, it wasn't just my sick sense of humor.

It's nice to see someone who's gone through so much in the public eye (drugs are bad, mkay) clean up his act and come back with a vengeance. There's sure to be a sequel to this (and if you stay past the credits you get to see another big name star that's going to be in that).


PS. The Dark Knight is coming out this month. If you haven't yet seen Batman Begins it is most defiantly worth the rent. Dark Knight is coming to theaters and IMAX and that's exactly where we'll be sitting the weekend it opens.
