It's Showtime!

I've always been an HBO girl (omg remember prism?). Any house I've lived in for the past 20 years has had it, it was the cool channel to have. However, my sister Karen and my friend Ed both have Showtime (hi Ed) and quite enjoy it. Sunday morning Drew and I woke up early at the hotel and just flipped through the channels together. We landed on the last half our of an Anthony Hopkins movie called The World's Fastest Indian. It was not a moive we would have watched baed on title, but the end was pretty good. We talked about ditching HBO and getting Showtime so I could watch Weeds and know what Karen is talking about, and just to see what was different. My hero Drew called and made the switch while we were driving home, by the time we walked in the door we were now Showtime subscribers.

Big difference. Huge. HBO has the sit there, watch them, be entertained kinds of programs. Showtime is just a little smarter, more indy-ish maybe? I'm looking forward to watching Dexter and the L Word, and keeping up to date with my sister and Weeds. I've adopted a new attitude as far as picking a movie to watch goes: just because I haven't heard of it (like most Showtime movies), doesn't mean it isn't good.

Yay! May I recommend "Penn & Teller: Bullshit!" and "Californication"? Ah, well, I just did, so... hehe.
