Lest we forget...

We started something new around here, Family Dinner.  Now, we don't really have the most normal schedules.  Sometimes we're cooking dinner at 5, sometimes it's 8:30, it's just how it goes.  It's funny that I married someone with the same eating habits as Kae and I. Quite often by the time we get home from work/activities it's pretty late and we all grab something to eat.  Then we put on comfy clothes and descend (plate in hand) to the basement.  Once down there we pick a movie or I find a show, we sit at our respective computers and eat/play/surf away.   It should be noted for those who haven't been to my house that we each have our own computers down there as well as a couch or television and our laundry room, it's basically our living room.

While we're down there we talk, laugh and stil hang out together, but I thought it would be nice if just once a week we unplug for an hour or two.   I typed up a little bulletin and put it on the fridge.  Every Tuesday night (starting last night) we prepare, eat, and clean up dinner together.   Here are a few of the rules:

  • All family dinner participants are to stay upstairs unless they need something downstairs to use at family dinner.
  • Family dinner will start 15 minutes from when the last person gets home.
  • During family dinner there will be no phones or computers permitted.
It should me noted here that my phone was the only one to go off last night during dinner and my rule bit me in the ass first.  Next week family dinner will be on Thursday because I'll be in Chicago Monday-Wednesday.  Oh?  I didn't tell you, I'm going to Chicago :)

PS for Cousin Jennifer:  My blog looks so icky now compared to yours.  Curse you and your HTML skills. <3!
