Chicken Pepperoni

There's an old movie with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn called "Seems Like Old Times". In it is a funny Hispanic housekeeper named Aurora. Aurora makes a dish called Chicken Pepperoni, a meal who's name has always intrigued me. Chicken AND Pepperoni in the same dish? Hmmm....

Last night, being Tuesday, was family dinner night. The plan at first was to grill some chicken and make some fries since that was on hand... and then I started digging. There was some leftover red sauce, half a bag of shredded cheese, and low and behold a few thin slices of pepperoni. I fried the chicken in olive oil, oregano and fresh garlic. Next I put it in a baking dish with the red sauce, covered each piece with some pepperoni a little sauce and lots o'cheese. It was sooo good. Chicken Parm is one of Drew's favorite meals so it was fun to spice it up a little. Certainly a dish I'll be making again.

I was going to put that in my post, but people that haven't seen the movie may not get the connection between dinner and feet scraping. Ewwww.

I've seen that movie and don't recall the foot scraping thing.

Snaps for the delicious meal. HOWEVER, I can sense several dead Italian ancestors turning in their graves when you called gravy "red sauce"!!!!!!

I'm still waiting to hear how much you love The Big Lebowski. There's no Chevy Chase in it, but it's still worth viewing. I'm The Dude, man.

1. As I was typing "red sauce" I secretly cringed having seen you put gravy in a post just a few days ago. Thankfully Nan doesn't read my blog :)

2. I put in on my Nextflix queue. I'll soon know who The Dude is :)
