Because they can't always be sunshiny posts...

Today I got a call from my dad, my Nan (on the left in the picture below) who has been ill for a while and in the hospital for about a week had taken a turn for the worse overnight and they were doing what they could to "make her comfortable". I got in my car and headed to NJ, but didn't make it there on time. There was family with her and she passed peacefully.

This picture is from my first birthday. It's me with my grandmothers, one of my favorites. My grandmothers were both independent and strong, stubborn and loving. There was never any doubt how they felt about any given situation. It's amazing how similar, and how loving they both were. I've been so fortunate to have them as role models in my life.

I'll miss ya Nan, we all will.

Love you.

Kinda weird/cool that both of our Paternal Grandmothers were born on March 17th.

Bookends.

All I can say is, "A little for the cookies; a little for Nanny."

Love you, my darling cousin.
