Enough Already!!!

I was going to wait until Saturday to make this post since that's the day our Jingle-Bell-Blogathon begins (mark your calendars kids) but I just can't take it anymore... Remember when you were young and Christmas songs were a treat? You'd hear more and more the closer it got to Christmas, and then some stations played all Christmas music on the eve and actual day of Chrismas. It was very special.

Now... oh my GOD PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!! I was in the car for 6 1/2 hours today and I'd say as I scanned through broadcast zone after broadcast zone about 1/2 the songs were Christmas songs. For me, it loses it's cool holiday quality when it's all you hear... it makes it less special.

Since I'm being blasphemous (sorry J.) I'm going to also ask for a few songs to be removed from the Christmas radio playlist.

  1. Grandma got run over by a reindeer, who the hell is cousin Mo anyway?
  2. And so this is Christmas, another upbeat song by John Lennon
  3. Jingle Bell Rock, only the Hall and Oates version
  4. Mannheim Steamroller Silver Bells, quite frankly it scares me
I'm sure there are others... what's your vote?

I simply do not like Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time".

YES!! That one sucks too!!

I disagree with Karen about Paul and I disagree with you about John. Cousin Jennifer is pro-Beatles. Hall & Oates and Manheim Steamroller are completely different stories, however.
