The Best Part of My Monday

We recently purchased a week long write-on/wipe-off board for our fridge. Our weeks get kind of crazy and we all sometimes get a little confused as to what is going on when. It's pretty cool, plenty of room under each day, and has a little cork board strip along the bottom. We write everything on it so there's never a question as to what's going on and because it starts on a Monday I'm hoping that it will end the inevitable Thursday question of "So, what are we doing this weekend again?".

Yesterday the new week was put up, ending in an awesome |---Jen and Michael---| covering Saturday and Sunday. Yay! Then today I got a little weekend changing news. Michael's sister-in-law had gone into labor over the weekend and his new niece was on the way. In my mind I was secretly panicking that I would not see my friend because of this wonderful event. Selfish, yes, but true. Then I learned that Jen would still be coming, alone, as Michael went South (NC I think) to celebrate this event with his family. Drew will be gone this weekend as well, heading to a bachelor party for a friend of ours in Ohio. This means one thing... GIRLS WEEKEND!

Don't get me wrong here, I love Michael and so appreciate that they both take the time (and spend the money) to come up and see us when then can. We have a great time and it's so nice to go out with another couple, but I can't remember the last time it was just Jen and I hanging out, cocktails and B-movies... and of course a fire.

Best part of my day: Realizing it was just going to be me and the BFF this weekend. Yee fucking ha!
