Ah... the 80's. A grand time where the men used more product and makeup than the women did. I was convinced that I was destined to marry John Taylor from Duran Duran... either him or George Michael (I never said I was smart in the 80's). My cousin Jennifer and I shared our love of the Durans, I believe she was a Nick Taylor fan but I could be wrong. Jennifer was queen of the 80's hairstyles as far as I can remember, much more daring (read: cool) than I was.
One of my favorite shows of the early 80's was Kids Incorporated (and please ignore the fact that I was way too old to enjoy that show at that time). It was cheesy and filled with bad 80's fashion with a kicky song thrown in a few times. Here's the opening sequence in case you forget. Please note that Marta Marrero in the opening credits went on to become "Martika" with her hit "Toy Soldiers", and Stacy Ferguson we all know and love as the Dutchess herself, Fergie.
Tomorrow is the final day of Les Mis subject lines. My cousin Jennifer has come up with the brilliant idea of using 80's songs for our next week of blogging. We are both really enjoying the challenge, and our blogs are loving all the attention.
So grab your LA Gear hightops, your black lace gloves and lots of Aqua net, the blog-a-thon is not over yet.
