We're Off to See the Wizard

I kid you not when I tell you I heard someone sing that today. I'm back in training for the latest and greatest systems that we sell. Today in class our instructor told us to use the "configuration wizard" and one of the guys in the back row sang "Weeeeee're off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz". I almost choked on my coffee. When I was here last month I did a post about the back row where I sat. This time around there are less people in the class and I'm in the front row, but that doesn't mean the class is full of any less interesting celebrities.

Sitting next to me is an older, heavier (and straighter) version of Carson Kressley.


Carson got waaayyyy behind in class today and refused to ask anyone for help. We did over a dozen training exercises on our computers today and Carson was nowhere near done at the end of the day. The instructor (our own personal wizard if you will) offered to help him several times but he got cranky with her for "hovering".

Next to Carson is Unattractive Ed. Now, I don't have a picture on this laptop of my friend Ed to show you, but most of you know him so that won't be a big deal. I think my friend Ed is an attractive man, this guy not so much, but there's quite a resemblance to him. I instantly liked Unattractive Ed just because he reminded me of my friend. We joked around during breaks a bit.

Then there's the back row.... the Manatinites. I spell it like that because people from Manhattan I've found pronounce it "Manatin". The also all say "on Long Island" which I don't understand but have gotten used to since one of my very best friends grew up "on Long Island". They all talk like her which makes me smile.

The first star in the back row is none other than Ghostbuster Harold Ramis (but picture the glasses with a lovely yellow tint).


Harold was dressed today in what I call "Uncle John blues". Blue work shirt, blue work pants, white t-shirt underneath. Harold made lots of references to Jewish people today (not in a negative way though) and several times used the word cockamayme which made me laugh out loud the first time I heard it.

Next to Harold is the scary guy from Lord of the Rings. The guy himself is really not scary but the hair is dead on. Scary guy is the one who sang "we're off to see the Wizard". Creepy? Yes, but what a week to have heard someone sing that line!


Ironically enough, and this struck me as soon as I saw the guy, next to scary guy is the primped up cowardly lion (sans the bow). He's got kinda crazy thinning blondish hair and the face is the same.

Rounding out the back row is none other than the Taxi Driver himself Robert DeNiro. Robert, like all the other back row guys, is very nice. Bobby knows his shit, no doubt about it, and is the leader of the back row. If I had to make a guess I'd say he's the boss/owner of the "Manatin's R Us".



Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
