Of course I couldn't find my real camera at 6:30 this morning when she was ready to leave so this one will have to do. It's funny how we've gone from dresses and curly hair to jeans and sneakers. See that necklace she's wearing? It was mine some 20 years ago. Drew and I volunteered to go down up the bus stop with her but it was more to see her reaction than anything else (she declined our offer). She was out the door by 6:35 and heading for her first day of high school. As soon as she left I started to worry... what if she forgets her locker number, did I give her enough money for lunch, how is she going to find her way around that huge school when she's just little tiny Kae? I do this every first day, and then I realize she's made it this far without me standing there walking from class to class with her, she'll be just fine. Then I sat down and had my annual "I can't believe my baby is in (fill in grade here)" cry. It was a little tougher this year since it's high school, but I think we'll both be just fine.
PS. If we were doing a Grease 2 blog-a-thon I could have used the song "Back to School".
Blog title from "Those Magic Changes".
