Well kids I'm happy to report that after week 2 I am down a little over 11 lbs and Drew is down 8. We are both feeling better and lasting longer through the workouts. I've only missed one day so far due to a loooong site visit day, but Drew hasn't missed a beat. Kaeleigh even worked out with us on Saturday which made it even more fun... ok, maybe "fun" is an exaggeration.
We're eating so much better, salads instead of Wendy's, (soy) sausage sandwiches instead of cereal loaded with sugar, lots of chicken and fish. We've customized the menu we started with to leave out the stuff we didn't like from the first week and add more of the things we loved, like protein shakes made with frozen fruit (peaches, mango, strawberries). As my sister would say mmmm num num . I made beef and broccoli for dinner last night and it was terrific. Even Kaeleigh and Amanda cleaned their plates. My favorite meal so far is Island Pork Tenderloin Salad. It's pork loin with a chili powder/cinnamon rub on it and then brown sugar and garlic on the top. The smell when it's cooking is fantastic. I make (that's right... making dressing) a cumin vinaigrette to go with it and. We take about 5 slices and serve it on top of of some bell pepper, lots of lettuce, and segments from 1/2 orange... and yes it's diet food! It's got this great crunchy, sweet, spicy, tangy thing going on. Fab-oo!
Plus, I feel better in general. I'm getting more done in the morning since I'm actually out of bed. I've got more energy, and there's less guilt about spending 2 hours watching tv thinking "maybe I should workout"... because I've already worked out for the day. I think that's one of the best benefits of waking up, working out, and then getting on with my day.

You go girl!!! I'm still working on getting motivated to start eating healthy...and if my back ever stops hurting I'll be walking every morning and gardening again!
That salad sounds out of this World. I won't eat a salad unless it's got a mother on it (the meat) and that pork sounds so tasty. Good job sticking with it. I cannot get motivated lately.
