beep... beep... beep.... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
That's the sound of my iPhone flatlining. It fell out of my jeans pockets tonight and dropped right into the toilet (post flush). The picture above is not my phone, but that was the sad scene earlier tonight. For a few minutes it shot up errors on the screen about airplane mode and unauthorized devices, then it vibrated a few times, and then went blank.
Now I have to tell you that compared to Darcie's blog and Jennifer's blog posts for this evening having my phone get wet and have to replace it is a minor minor thing, and I realize that, but you also should understand that I do EVERYTHING with my phone. I use it to keep in touch with Kae when I'm on the road, for directions, my calendar, to talk to Drew and at least one sister each day. I use the mapping when my GPS just won't get me where I need to be, and to look up things online when I'm at sites with no internet access for work. I take it with me everywhere and right now it's a $200 paperweight and I am very dissapointed.
I've shaken all the water I can out of it, used a compressed air can and a blow dryer on cool to no avail. I'm going to let it sit overnight and dry, and hope that it dries out and will somehow miracuolously be working again in the morning. If not, well then, I fork out the money for a new one, at the not discounted price. It's an amazing phone, so let's hope it just needs a little rest.
*Title from Baby Come Back, by Player in 1977 (currently heard in the swiffer mop commercials)
PS. Dont' forget this week we're using 70's songs for blog titles. In addition to Jennifer and Darcie above you can also check out my sister Karen's blog as well as our friend Toni's.

I'm just really impressed at how clean that toilet is. Did you clean that for the shot?
I am so sorry about your phone and hope that it ressurects itself this morning!! I knew the phone was love at first site when you showed it to me at Jakes wedding!
